The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) has released the draft of the RACGP Standards for general practice residential aged care (1st edition) (the Standards for GPRAC) for further consultation.
We sought initial feedback from members and stakeholders during the first consultation held in late 2019. The comments received has been reviewed and incorporated (as appropriate) into the second draft..
The RACGP is seeking further member and stakeholder feedback on the Standards for GPRAC.
The Standards for GPRAC were developed specifically to improve patient care and address the barriers that general practitioners face when delivering such vital care in residential aged care facilities. To ensure the Standards for GPRAC are fit for purpose, we invite interested members, individuals and organisations to review the draft and provide further feedback.
The consultation phase will commence on Wednesday 6 May 2020 and will be ongoing, concluding once piloting has been undertaken later in the year and subject to the COVID-19 recovery phase. We will advise stakeholders on this timeline as it evolves.
