Submissions close: 27 January 2020
The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) has released its draft Standards for health services in Australian immigration detention centres (2nd edition) (IDC Standards) for consultation.
The IDC Standards have been developed to support health professionals, their employer organisations and the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs (DHA) in their endeavours to provide high quality health care to people detained in Australian immigration detention centres.
The IDC Standards have the same modular structure as the RACGP’s Standards for general practices (5th edition), with outcomes and patient focussed Indicators. The IDC Standards has three modules:
- Quality improvement (QI)
- Immigration detention centre health service (IDC)
To ensure the IDC Standards are meaningful for the profession and other stakeholders, we invite interested individuals and organisations to review the draft and offer feedback. The consultation phase will run from 7 January 2020 and conclude on 27 January 2020. The RACGP welcomes feedback from Members and stakeholders.
