AGPT registrars can commence applying to practices for the 2025.2 placement round through the Training Management System (TMS) from Monday, 28 April. Due to this, we are anticipating higher-than-usual traffic to our TMS. Although this may result in slower load times, we will actively be monitoring TMS performance and making necessary changes to remediate any issues. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your patience and understanding.

Medicare proposals

Both major parties backed many of our initiatives to grow the specialist GP workforce faster, and committed to invest $8.5 billion in Medicare.

The funding injection is targeted in a different way than we had advised, and the RACGP continues to call for an increase in Medicare rebates, particularly for longer and GP mental health consultations.

In the meantime, your College is providing information and resources designed to help members navigate the proposed changes, which can be accessed on this page alongside our comprehensive plan for accessible and affordable care for all Australia.
