2013 RACGP Foundation grants and awards acknowledge GP researchers’ vital contribution – announcement of recipients

The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) is proud to announce the recipients of the 2013 RACGP research grants and awards, supporting new and emerging general practitioner (GP) researchers to conduct projects and research into primary healthcare and general practice.

A total of 20 research grants and awards were offered by The RACGP Foundation to GPs and general practice registrars who are members of the College. The available grants exceeded $450,000 as the RACGP invests in its vision: ‘Healthy Profession, Healthy Australia’.

The RACGP Foundation Patron, Professor Peter Mudge, said the range of research being undertaken by Australia’s GPs is both relevant and impressive.

“The RACGP strongly believes in the value of research in general practice and the College’s research grants and awards acknowledge the vital contribution GPs make to furthering medical advancements within the community.

“Building a valuable body of evidence relevant to general practice is central to improving delivery of care to all Australians, which is why continued investment in general practice research is vital,” Professor Mudge said.
