Amendments to the RACGP Standards for general practices (4th edition) and Interpretive guide

The RACGP Standards
The Interpretive guide

Computer and information security

The use of clinical desktop systems and the electronic management of information have become vital to the delivery of safe and high quality care for patients. General practice is at the forefront of e-health and has specific requisites in computer and information security. Information security is not about the maximum security possible, it is about the balance between reasonable action and protection. The RACGP recognised that general practice staff required resources that were practical and applicable to achieving robust information security in general practice.
