Psychodynamic Principles Workshop (02 May 2009 08 Aug 2009)

Description:

This full day workshop is designed to impart a detailed understanding of psychodynamic principles and their application in the treatment of common problems via focused psychological therapies such as CBT and IPT. Knowledge of these principles assists general practitioners to increase their understanding of what patients are experiencing and how they can be helped.

Presented by Dr Jim Antoniadis; a founding member of the Australian College of Psychological Medicine. He is a FRACGP and a member of the Victoria Faculty's GP and Psychiatry Liaison Committee.

This workshop is a component of an active learning module (ALM) approved by the RACGP QA&CPD Program in the 2008-2010 triennium. Completion of all ALM components will attract 40 category 1 points.

Approved by the GPMHSC, completion of this activity will fulfil the mental health CPD requirement for registered providers of FPS in the 2008-2010 triennium.

Dermatology Conference for General Practitioners (17 Jul 2009 19 Jul 2009)

Description: This conference will address problems frequently seen in general practice. Each session is designed to be highly interactive and will give GPs practical information on a range of common skin conditions.
The optional practical procedures workshop on Friday night will provide participants with a refresher on practical procedures in dermatology.

Delegates who take part in the practical procedures workshop on Friday are eligible to receive 4 Category 2 points under the RACGP QA&CPD Program for the 2008•2010 triennium


This conference has been approved by the RACGP QA&CPD Program in the 2008-2010 triennium for 25 Category 2 points for full conference attendance.

Advanced dermatology conference for GPs
Attendance on both days (Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 July) of this conference is a prerequisite requirement to attend the advanced dermatology conference for general practitioners scheduled for late 2009.

Victoria Faculty Pre Exam Course (25 Jul 2009 10 Oct 2009)

Description: The Victoria Faculty will conduct a series of pre-examination courses to assist candidates in their preparation for the RACGP Fellowship Examinations. A new program has been designed to enable candidates to partake in sessions singularly or combined (same as the college exam).

Written and practical procedures Examination overview, including physical examination and viva segments. Introduction to, and practice of, patient consultations and management interviews with feedback. Opportunity to use practical procedure models.

Saturday 22 August or Saturday 10 October 2009
12.00 pm - 5.00 pm
Practice clinical examination/OSCE Opportunity to be involved in a short simulation of the objective structured clinical examination.
