Wurli is currently recruiting for two vocationally registered General Practitioners committed to improving the health of Aboriginal people and to provide culturally appropriate health services to our Katherine clients.

A fantastic opportunity to join a multi-disciplinary, primary health care team on beautiful Elcho Island!
Miwatj Health is an Aboriginal community controlled primary health care service based in Nhulunbuy, NT. We are currently looking for a general practitioner to provide medical services at our Ngulkabuy Health Service on Elcho Island. Services will include the management of chronic conditions and assistance with the delivery and promotion of primary health care. The Health service provides primary health care to a population of around 2600 Elcho Island people and people from the surrounding Homeland Centres. The Health Centre staff include Medical Officers, Registered Nurses and Aboriginal Health Workers.
The position is suited for a mature GP with an interest, knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal people and their culture. They will have extensive experience in general practice and a commitment to primary health care. An ability to operate as part of a multi-disciplinary team that is focused on improving the health and welfare of Aboriginal people is a must.
The position is for a 12 month fixed term contract and comes with an attractive salary package, subsidised housing and other benefits. Current general or specialist registration is required and all applicants must address selection criteria to be considered.
