Whether you are working towards a career in general practice or still

gplearning is the College's highly
interactive online
education service. You can access a range of FREE activities, which are
ideal for testing your clinical knowledge and practising for your
examinations. gplearning presents students with case based
problems,
simulated patient consultations and multiple choice questions that test
your thinking and decision making process.
Clinical
publications and resources
RACGP student members can receive up to 25% discount on the recommended
retail price on a range of hardcopy publications. The RACGP produces and
holds a range of clinical publications to support students with their
medical education. External publications include John Murtagh's titles,
Therapeutic Guidelines titles and other reference handbooks.
Database
resources
If you need assistance with research projects or assignment
preparation, the library's online databases can assist you. You can
access Australian and International databases, e-journals and the
Informit AustHealth Collection.
e-Book Library
The RACGP John Murtagh Library has access to a collection of e-books via
the e-book Library platform (EBL). The EBL platform allows you to read
medical books direct from your desktop or e-book compatible device.
RACGP website
The RACGP website contains information on all aspects of general
practice. You can access member only areas which allow you to access
online clinical resources and much more.
Fridayfacts
Fridayfacts is the College's national weekly e-newsletter.
The e-newsletter is devoted to delivering timely news, information and
alerts for general practice every Friday.
Events
Student members can receive a discount on the registration fee to the
RACGP's annual conference. The conference enables you to learn about
current issues impacting on general practice as well as enjoy networking
and socialising with other students and GPs from around Australia.
Podcasts, videos and audio
digests
A range of podcasts, videos and other audio journals are
available via the library's web pages. Download these tools to your iPod
or MP3 player and you can improve your clinical knowledge while on the
move. These handy resources are a great way to keep up-to-date with
developments affecting general practice.
DynaMed for iPhone
or Blackberry
DynaMed is an evidence-based resource tool which you can download direct
to your hand-held device (including iPhone, Blackberry, Pocket PC and
more) or view it on a desktop computer. Particularly useful when you
don't have access to all your medical books, this tool conveniently
provides up to date and relevant evidence-based information in minutes.

Help with viewing files
The
check Program is a unique self education program produced by
the RACGP for GPs. Each themed issue provides a range of case studies
written by expert clinicians that outline a clinical scenario and
propose a series of questions. The check Program is designed to
enhance knowledge and to support consideration of the important issues
in the clinical history, examination, investigation and management of a
health issue.
