The RACGP Research Foundation
Guidelines for reports
RACGP Grant recipients are required to submit regular updates to the National Research Awards Committee detailing the progress of their research. At its first meeting each year, the Committee reviews the progress of all current College-funded projects.
All current grant recipients are asked to forward progress reports no later than 1st June each year, 6 months from the commencement of their projects and a final report no later than 3 months following the completion of the project.
Guidelines for Progress Reports
The Committee requests from all grant recipients a short (up to one page) summary describing the current status of the project, outlining the achievements to date and expected timeline for the remaining stages, including notification of when and where the results will be presented and submitted for publication. Any problems or setbacks encountered in the course of the research should be included in this report.
Guidelines for Final Reports
When the project is finished, the final report should follow the general outline of the research protocol.

It is expected that most projects will be completed 12 months after the initial release of funds, however researchers may in some cases obtain extensions on their projects by contacting the Grants and Scholarships Administration Assistant at research@racgp.org.au for a Request for Extension form.
Grant recipients are encouraged to present their research findings at a scientific meeting, preferably the RACGP Annual Scientific Convention, within two years of the completion of the project. It is also expected that a paper will be submitted for publication in an appropriate peer-reviewed medical journal.
