Social Media: Stay connected

With digital communication now commonplace, and people more comfortable in its use, professional industries have become increasingly aware of the importance of interacting with a larger section of the community. The use of social media has become a vital aspect of modern business, including general practice. Social media’s widespread use, low cost and ability to transcend geographical boundaries make it a convenient tool for general practices to connect with patients and other health professionals. GPs and practice staff use platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to communicate with others, access information, share knowledge and gather experience and expertise on topics of interest.
