The RACGP has developed strong relationships with a number of overseas colleges. Our shared aims in establishing these links are to support improvements in standards, education and training in general practice and primary care in our countries. In particular, the RACGP has long standing relationships with the Hong Kong College of Family Physicians (HKCFP) and the Academy of Family Physicians of Malaysia (AFPM). The RACGP has also entered into agreements with the Fiji College of General Practitioners, the Gulf Medical College Ajman and the Irish College of General Practitioners to work together for the mutual benefit of our organisations and the patients we serve.
Medical practitioners in Hong Kong and Malaysia are also able to obtain FRACGP through a conjoint Fellowship examination. Medical practitioners who are planning to sit the RACGP conjoint Fellowship examination and are members of the HKCFP or the AFPM are also required to be financial members of the RACGP. The conjoint Fellowship examination is held once per year in Hong Kong and once per year in Malaysia in conjunction with the respective colleges. Enrolment for the conjoint examination is through our partner colleges. Upon successful completion of the Fellowship examination and fulfilment of the eligibility criteria, the FRACGP is conferred on these doctors. RACGP Fellows and senior staff attend these examinations to ensure that college standards are maintained.
