Membership types, categories and fees

The RACGP understands that GPs are faced with a diverse range of options for balancing their work and lifestyle needs, or may be going through different stages in their ‘journey of general practice’. The college has created a broad range of membership types that reflect this diversity. New or renewing members should consider these when determining the appropriate membership type for particular status. Eligibility for each type of membership is renewed each financial year.

Australian registered GPs can join the college in a range of membership types including full time, part time, GP spouse, new Fellow and registrar. For further details view the RACGP membership rate card.

Voting rights for RACGP members

RACGP members who are Fellows, (full) Members* and Registrar Associates (ie general practice registrars) have full voting rights. Associates do not have full voting rights but may attend the RACGP's Annual General Meeting (AGM) and vote for the President's allowance. Affiliates do not have voting rights but may attend the AGM. There is no difference in the membership rates, benefits or services provided to Fellows, (full) Members and Associate members - other than the option to vote should members so choose.
