The RACGP John Murtagh Library
Web accounts and registering with the Library
This short web-based tutorial will guide you through obtaining your
RACGP website account, and registering for first-time use of the RACGP
John Murtagh Library service. Click on the links to reveal more
information. Click again on the link to minimise it.
1. I need a username
and password to log in to Library member-only pages. Where on the
website do I obtain this?
You'll need to go to the 'passwords and accessing the website' section
found on the 'website-help' pages found directly above in the top
right-hand corner. Alternatively, below are clickable links to the
website
help pages.
Passwords and accessing the website
How do I get
a username and password?
|
You should have been provided with a username and password in your
membership pack when you joined the College.
If you have never received a password/username before please contact the
college by email at web.admin@racgp.org.au
including your full name and QA&CPD number if you know it.
|
I have
forgotten my username and password
1. Click the 'Forgot password?' link in the light blue login
box.
2. Within a short period of time you will receive an
email containing a link.
3. Clicking the link will open the 'Reset My Password'
page in your browser. Fill in the required information and click submit
to reset your password.
If we don't have your correct email address in our College system you
will not receive the email. If our system finds other users with the
same address (eg, if several GPs use one generic practice address) the
reset email will not be sent for security reasons. If this is the case
then you will need to contact web.admin@racgp.org.au to have
your password reset manually. |
 |
How do I change my
password (if you know what your password is but want to change it to
something different)?
1. Login then click
the 'Change your password' option in the light blue login box.
Your login details will be displayed. Make the changes you require
to your login name and password. Note that you need to enter your old
password as well as what you wish to change it to.
2. When finished press 'submit'
We recommend you use a strong password, it should consist of a
combination
of upper and lower case letters, numbers and special characters, such as
!$ etc.
When changing your password you will notice the system displays the
last time you logged in. Please contact the College if this is not
correct.
Using strong passwords is a recommendation, however, it is not
enforced by the system. |
 |
How do I log into
the website
1. Enter your
username and password into the light blue login box in the top left
region of the page then press the blue 'login' button.
2. If your details are successfully recognised the
box will change to display your name and the message 'You are logged
on'.
If you are a College member you can now access Members
only content. QA&CPD registered GPs can now access your QA
statement, however you will not be able to access Members only content
unless you join the College. |
 |
I am putting
my username and password in but its not working
There are three reasons why your account may not
be working for you:
1. You are not using your correct details (see 'I
have forgotten my username and password')
2. Your account is disabled (see 'Why is my website
account disabled?')
3. It is the first time you have logged
in and you need to go through some legal information before your login
is complete. You will see a page with a paragraph of red writing at the
top (see image right).
a. After reading the information on the page, there is an option to
'Exclude my details from the Find a GP/Practice directory' - if you
would like your details excluded tick the check box here.
b. Click the Next button.
The second page covers the Terms of use. Please read and click Next.
c. The third and final page covers is the Disclaimer page.
Again, please read it and click Next to continue.
d. You are now logged on and should see options to change your
username/password details or view your QA&CPD statement.
This process is only required during your initial log in and will not
happen again. |
Why is my
website account disabled?
|
As a security measure website accounts become disabled if you
incorrectly try to login several times. This is to stop hackers trying
millions of different combinations of
letters to try and access your account details. If your account is
disabled it needs to be manually unlocked.
Contact web.admin@racgp.org.au to have
access restored.
Please include your full name and QA&CPD number if you have
one. |
Why do I need to log
in?
|
You can access most of the RACGP website content without having to
login. However RACGP Members have special access to some content and
services.
You will need to be logged in to access Member only content areas (these
are marked 'Members only') and Library services and databases. Other
areas require you to be logged on but not neccesarily a College member.
These include online QA&CPD statements and the Psychiatrist Referral
Directory. If you are Vocationally registered then you
can have an RACGP website account to use these features.
|
Who to contact if
you have problems
Are my RACGP
website and gplearning passwords the same?
|
Yes. If you have login problems that you cannot solve using the
information on this page contact web.admin@racgp.org.au. Please include
your full name and QA&CPD number if you have one, and as much
information as you can regarding your problem. |
|
