What are the GP of the Year Awards?

The GP of the Year awards have been created to salute the dedication of general practitioners and reward those GPs who truly strive for excellence and who make a difference. The awards provide a wonderful opportunity for you, your patients and your peers to celebrate general practice and the doctors who work in this field. At the same time the awards help raise community awareness of the dedication, professional skills and caring approach of General Practitioners in Australia.

Why are we running the GP of the Year Awards?

The RACGP believes it's time to recognise the important role that GPs play in the frontline of primary care and to let the public know all GPs are continuously honing their skills through continuing professional development. This year, we'd like all GPs and their patients to help unearth the nation's most admired and respected GPs. It could be you or a colleague.

Why be involved?

This is your opportunity to nominate those doctors you believe are ambassadors for your profession - people who provide a high level of excellence in patient care. At the same time, the GP of the Year awards give all doctors the chance to be recognised in the community, help improve the profile of general practice and win prizes. All awards require nomination, and will be assessed by the RACGP Council Awards Committee.
