2011 – 2013 GPMHSC standards for mental health training for GPs
GPMHSC standards for mental health training overview
A Framework for Professional Development in Mental Health for GPs 2011 - 2013 defines the progressive training pathway for professional development in mental health for GPs. The document also outlines the standards for training providers seeking GPMHSC accreditation for their education and training activity.
The GPMHSC standards focus on the development of the necessary skills for treatment of mental illness in a general practice setting and aims to assist GPs and training providers to determine priorities for training. The focus is on post-vocational, continuing professional development, but within a broader framework encompassing other stages of professional training.
