Regional Training Providers
A regional training provider is a organisation created to deliver
education and training within a specific geographical region. Funded by
General
Practice Education and Training (GPET), Regional training providers
are accredited every 3 years according to RACGP, GPET and, if
applicable, Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine
(ACRRM) standards.
There are currently 20 accredited regional training providers
throughout Australia. Please find below a list of currently accredited
regional training providers.

regional areas, including Central Qld, Wide Bay & Bundaberg,

in SE Metropolitan

General Practice Education Australia
Previously covering all areas without Consortia between 2002 and 2005.
GPEA has now been integrated into the RACGP Resource Development Unit.
GPEA was set up by the RACGP to transition general practice training to
the GPET funded training environment.
Rhedwest
Located in Dubbo, NSW. Rhedwest merged with Central West Consortium in
2006 and now operates as GPlogic.
Central West Consortium
Located in Bathurst, NSW. Central West Consortium merged with Rhedwest
in 2006 and now operates as GPlogic.
New England Area Training Services
Located in Moree NSW. New England Area Training Services merged with
Sydney Institute for General Practice Education and Training on 1
January 2009 and now operates as GP Synergy.
Sydney Institute for General Practice Education and
Training
Located in Sydney NSW. Sydney Institute for General Practoce Education
and Training merged with New England Area Training Services on 1 January
2009 and now operates as GP Synergy.
