The RACGP has a real stake in making a strong case for primary care in the context of national health reform and has provided the commission with a detailed submission entitled 'The improvement of general practice primary care services'. Our submission advocates for reform which leads to a health system that is easier for patients to navigate, and which provides high quality care in general practice. The RACGP recommends that the commission act to strengthen the health of Australian communities, supported by practice teams under the clinical leadership of general practitioners, through a preventative and early intervention health focus and improved services to patients with complex and chronic clinical conditions.
