RACGP Victoria is offering a full day, face-to-face education session on MATOD for GPs with a need to prescribe pharmacotherapy to more than 5 patients with opioid dependence.

Attendees must have completed the online Module 1 prior to registering for this session.

This activity is funded by the Victorian Government.

This education is an interactive session presented by MATOD specialist GPs accredited for 40 Category 1 QI&CPD points for the 2017-2019 triennium.

Please note by registering you consent for your details to be provided to the Department of Health and Human Services and the Pharmacotherapy Area Based Networks in Victoria.

Skin Cancer: Theory and Practice


This workshop will help general practitioners address skin cancer challenges they encounter such as skin cancer detection, management and treatment; and biopsy and excision techniques, and thus assist them to improve the health care service they provide to the Australian population.

Learning Outcomes:

  • Prescribe the most appropriate treatment for skin cancer tumors
  • Perform Biopsy and excission techniques for skin cancer tumors
  • Recognise and describe options in terms of treatment of skin cancer
  • Describe skin surgical techniques for skin cancer (eg MOH’S surgery)

RACGP invites Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander GP Registrars to be part of our (year) Indigenous Fellowship Excellence Program (IFEP). Held on Saturday 6 and Sunday 7 May 2017, this two-day program will offer you more than insight into exam preparation, it will also focus on supporting you through your journey in general practice.

Our presenters will offer you guidance on the best ways to study for the exams and share their stories of being in your shoes. We would also like to hear your story, understand your culture and the future that you envision. We would like to help you achieve your vision.

This session is free for all Aboriginal and Torres Strait GP registrars. It includes workshop material, morning/afternoon tea and lunch/dinner. Travel and accommodation will also be covered by the RACGP.

Psychodynamic Principles for General Practitioners Part 2

Resistance and the anxiety disorders: a one-day workshop designed to impart a detailed understanding of psychodynamic principles and their application in the treatment of common problems via focused psychological therapies.

This workshop covers: Reinforcing the important principles of Part 1, the psychodynamics of resistance to improvement (defences) in all its manifestations in psychological treatment, understanding the anxiety disorders: new psychodynamic principles will be introduced and explored, and also previously discussed principles and their uses in anxiety disorders.
