Australian General Practice Training Program (AGPT)

The Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) is a postgraduate vocational training program for medical graduates wishing to pursue a career in general practice and/or rural and remote medicine in Australia.

Selection into the AGPT program is a highly competitive merit-based process and involves a three or four year full-time commitment. The RACGP is responsible for the selection of rural and metropolitan candidates into the AGPT Program commencing with entry for the 2018 intake.

The RACGP will also be managing Academic Posts, Education Research Grants, AGPT clinical appeals and remediation for RACGP registrars. Please click on the links below for information about these programs.
