NT Pre-Exam Seminar - Written Component (18 Jul 2009 18 Jul 2009) |
| Description: |
The RACGP NT Assessment Panel will conduct a one day seminar to assist candidates in their preparation for the 2009.2 college fellowship written examination.
The seminar will include:
Instruction in examination techniques
Applied Knowledge Test
Key Feature Problems
During the seminar, candidates will be tutored by experienced members of the NT Assessment Panel. AKT and KFP practice sessions will provide candidates with the opportunity to experience the written elements of the exam.

Fellowship Preparation Program (24 Jul 2009 26 Jul 2009) |
| Description: |
The Fellowship Preparation Program is organised by the RACGP SA&NT Faculty. The program is now in its fifth successful year and participants have found it most beneficial in the lead up to the exam.
This program is aimed at introducing participants to the five domains of general practice which are:
œ communication skills and the patient doctor relationship
œ applied professional knowledge and skills
œ population health in the context of general practice
œ professional and ethical role
œ organisation and legal dimensions
The three day program covers the curriculum areas essential for competent, unsupervised general practice. The sessions are highly interactive with small group activities and role playing. There are over 20 presenters, most of whom are experienced examiners.

Fellowship Preparation Workshop - CLINICAL Component (11 Jul 2009 12 Jul 2009) |
| Description: |
The Tasmania Faculty will conduct a comprehensive Fellowship Preparation Workshop for candidates preparing for the clinical component of the College Examination.
The workshop will be facilitated by medical educator, Dr Sally Hildred and supported by experienced examiners.
The program will include: introduction to the Clinical Exam, instruction in examination techniques, video and discussion of long, short and VIVA clinical cases, practice OSCI and a comprehensive resource folder.
Candidates planning to participate in upcoming examinations are encouraged to attend.
Regsitrations close Friday 12 June 2009. |

| Description: |
The Victoria Faculty will conduct a series of pre-examination courses to assist
candidates in their preparation for the RACGP Fellowship Examinations.
A new program has been designed to enable candidates to partake
in sessions singularly or combined (same as the college exam).

Written and practical procedures
Examination overview, including physical examination and viva segments.
Introduction to, and practice of, patient consultations and management interviews
with feedback. Opportunity to use practical procedure models.

Practice clinical examination/OSCE
Opportunity to be involved in a short simulation of the objective structured clinical examination.

| Description: |
The WA faculty will provide a pre-exam clinical workshop for candidates sitting 2009.2 FRACGP exam. The workshop runs for approximately 4 hours from 9.00am to 11.40am. This location is the same venue for the clinical exam, and the workshop aims to provide candidates with:
An opportunity to participate in a ´mock’ version of the
clinical examination on-site
Individual feedback on performance in each case
Information on successful exam preparation and techniques
