Practice Eligible pathway

Doctors wishing to enrol in the 2012.2 exams via the Practice Eligible Pathway will need to have their application for Assessment of Experience submitted to the RACGP by Friday 13 April. We encourage candidates to submit the application as early as possible to ensure that they do not miss the enrolment deadline. Incomplete applications will not be accepted. Practice Eligible – Recognised general practice experience

Applicants wishing to undertake the college assessment exam segments via the Practice Eligible Pathway must have four (4) years full time approved general practice experience (or part time equivalent), and at least one year full time (or part time equivalent) general practice experience of the required four years must have been gained in Australian general practice.

What is general practice?

The college will only assess the last 10 years of your practice experience, and any experience gained before this 10 year period will not be considered.

The fees applicable to the general practice experience assessment process for this financial year (1st of July 2011 - 30th June 2012) are as follows:

Practice Eligible – Recognised General Practice Qualifications

Applicants with Australian medical registration obtained on or before 31 January 2010, and who have recognised general practice or family medicine specialist qualifications (see below) may be eligible to enrol in the College examination.
