The College Examination
Online examination demonstration system
The online demonstration system is available to candidates who want to try out the examination system to become familiar with it. Please note these are rejected questions and not of the quality you may expect in the examination. This is to allow you to get used to the online system and the format of the questions.
The minimum requirements are:
- PC or Mac with 2Ghz processor or faster with at least of 2Gb of RAM
- Browser: Mozilla Firefox 3.6 or above, Google Chrome 5.0 or above or Safari browser
- Standard keyboard and mouse
- Minimum screen resolution is SXGA (1280 pixels width x 1024 pixels height).
- Minimum internet access bandwidth is 64kbps (kilobits per second)
Mozilla Firefox can be downloaded free from www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/new/. Once Mozilla Firefox is installed you can access the online examination practice system by going to http://practiceexam.racgp.org.au/practice.
You will see a log on screen as in figure 1.
Please follow the instructions for the designated sections as stated below:
Username: Enter your college ID
number.
Password: Enter the first letter of your first name,
in capitals, followed by the first 4 letters of your surname, the first
letter in capitals and the next 3 in lower case, and followed by your
date of birth.
If the surname has less than 4 characters, xs will be appended to make it up to 4 characters. Dates are in the format DDMMYYYY. There are no spaces or dashes and for numbers below 10 you must put a proceeding 0. E.g. Adam Guy 4th July 1978 = AGuyx04071978.
Then select from the drop down box the examination you wish to try. You are able to logout and try the examination again should you wish to.
