Expression of Interest sought for National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Education Committee.

The National Faculty of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health are establishing an Education Committee to advise the Faculty Board in areas relating to General Practice and Primary Care Education in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health.

Access to ClinEd for the RACGP online activity: Introduction to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Awareness in general practice

Non-member GPs and other health professionals who are currently undertaking, or planning to shortly undertake, the online Introduction to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Awareness in general practice via ClinEd re advised that access to the activity is now available through the new gplearning website.

Non-member GPs and other health professionals who are currently undertaking, or planning to shortly undertake, the online Introduction to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Cultural Awareness in general practice via ClinEd are advised that access to ClinEd will be unavailable from 28 August onwards.

Medical student bursaries for the annual RACGP conference

The RACGP’s National Faculty of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health invites applications from Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander medical students currently studying at an Australian university for a student bursary to attend the RACGP’s annual conference (GP11) in Hobart on 6-8 October, 2011.

Call for nominations

The RACGP National Faculty of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health is seeking nominations for its Board. Positions currently available include: a Provost; Registrar, student and International Medical Graduate representatives; and representatives from all states and the Torres Strait Islands. Nominations open on 1 July 2011 and close 22 July 2011.

The RACGP National Faculty of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health is seeking a Censor. The Censor will be a member of the Faculty Board, and a member of the Board of Censors and Board of Assessment of the RACGP.

Response to 2011-12 Federal Budget: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health

Update on the PIP Indigenous Health Incentive

To register for the PIP Indigenous Health Incentive, at least two staff members from a practice (one of whom must be a GP) are required to complete appropriate cultural awareness training within 12 months of the practice signing on to the incentive.
