Vocational Training

Australian General Practice Vocational Training is one of the largest medical training specialties in Australia with over 600 registrars entering the training program each year.

The training program aims to provide medical practitioners with the values, skills and knowledge necessary for competent unsupervised general practice within Australia.

Education and Training is regionalised and delivered according to the RACGP Standards for general practice vocational training by 21 Regional Training Providers (RTPs) around Australia.

Medical graduates interested in undertaking general practice vocational training are advised to contact Australian General Practice Training (AGPT) for further information regarding the application process.
