Website help

Welcome to the new website of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

The purpose of this website is to provide critical information and clinical guidelines to the general practice profession, to provide health information to members of the public, and to allow members of the college to manage their membership details and continuing education.

The website also serves to demonstrate the free services and benefits on offer to college members - services such as the MyGeneralPractice desktop portal, gplearning, our QA&CPD program and our RACGP John Murtagh Library online services such as free access to ProQuest databases and member benefits through our corporate partners. It also provides information on upcoming college programs and events.

What's different?

Changes have been made to make this website more useful and more useable. We have improved the structure and organisation of the site to better reflect the needs of the profession.

The main menu at the top of the page has been completely redesigned, and each page features a side menu that shows visitors exactly where they are within the site and how they arrived there.

Our feature buttons below the side menu provide quick access to the most commonly visited areas of the site, while the search bar at the top right of the screen provides another option for finding information quickly.

On this site you will also find a wealth of new features, such as:

  • a fully searchable QA&CPD events calendar
  • clinical guidelines such as our 'red' and 'silver' books developed as fully searchable online publications
  • a login area where members can update their contact details and customise the site to their own clinical interest areas
  • podcasts (audio interviews) with Australian Family Physician authors
  • secure areas for document sharing and discussion
  • RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds and email alerts to notify users when new information (such as media releases) are added to the site.

More features coming soon

The next stage of the redevelopment of this website will include an option for members to pay their membership and QA&CPD fees online through a secure ecommerce facility, and an option to register through the site for education courses and other events.

We are pleased to offer this new website to our members, to our profession, and to the general public. Please let us know how we can make the site a more useful resource for general practitioners in their daily practice through our online feedback form.

If you encounter any difficulty in using this site, please visit our website help page.
