Health Care for all of us - World Refugee Day: 20 June

The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) is a longstanding advocate for the health of all people living in Australia. On World Refugee Day, 20 June, the organisation is calling for all of the most vulnerable people in the community on temporary bridging visas, and those who seek to migrate here, to have access to Medicare and subsidised medication under the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS). The college also supports the ongoing commitment of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship toward the provision of high quality healthcare to individuals in immigration detention centres through implementation of the RACGP detention health standards.

No need to 'tough it out' Men's Health Week: 9 - 15 June

With research showing that men are more likely to eat food high in fat, exercise less after the age of 35, drink alcohol in excessive amounts, smoke, use illicit drugs and not admit to experiencing emotional stress, the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) is urging men to be in charge of their health and to see their GP during Men’s Health Week. The week runs from 9-15 June.
