The RACGP Health Record System has been a part of Australian general practice for over 20 years. Designed to satisfy the needs and expectations of doctors, patients and staff, it is an important tool for care, professional development, observation, understanding, assessment and protection. Despite the computerisation of general practices and patient records, many practices choose to maintain hard copy patient records as well as computerised records.
